Lies Beijerinck, a.k.a. ‘Didge-mother of Holland’, plays the didgeridoo since 1993. Although classically trained in harp and cello, Lies developed her own style busking on the streets and was soon discovered by the Amsterdam dance scene, subsequently playing with DJ Tiësto in front of 25,000 people.
Lies is known for her powerful percussive style and clear harmonics and is one of the finest exponents of the didgeridoo in the world.

Many times Lies was in Australia, but in 2000 she was invited to the ‘Garma festival’. Garma is a festival by Aboriginal people for non-Aboriginal people. The non-Aboriginal people are invited by Aboriginal people to stay at a place in the North-East Arnhemland. The Aboriginal people share their customs, knowledge and cultural history!
Lies attended the Yidaki masterclass by Djalu Gurruwiwi as the first woman at this festival. And was blessed by this amazing csutodian of this instrument, and was given a powerful yidaki! Subsequently opening the doors to traditional playing for women.
